Two types of LCD glass are available from Densitron, namely standard and custom specified.
Standard LCD glass is used in Densitron's range of alphanumeric or graphic displays and therefore has a range of metal bezels, elastomeric connectors and backlights already tooled around it. Selecting standard glass will normally mean there are no tooling costs required for the glass or metal bezel.

If a standard piece of glass is not suitable, a custom piece of glass can be made. However, custom specified LCDs have a tooling cost associated with them both for the LCD glass, and for the connection system used to attach the glass to the host PCB. Custom LCDs are covered in a later section
