Recommended for on line measurement and qualifying of coatings. The interferometric instruments are ideally suited for diameter, eccentricity measurement and flaw detection of optical fibres coatings on high speed draw towers.
They offer the following features:
Coating diameter and eccentricity measurement Two axes absolute diameter measurement within ±0.3 µm. Two axes eccentricity measurement of any coating layer ±0.5µm. Fibre vibration measurement independent. X-Y analog measurement band pass of 10 Khz. Event recording. Statistics computing
High speed measurement and defect detection (70 KHz) Diameter and eccentricity measurement on nominal diameter. Detection of external defects: lumps, necks, scratches Detection of internal defects: glass airline and coating bubbles, delaminations, inclusions. Real time event recording
Other function Fiber feed pulse counting for length and speed computing.
Outputs Analog diameter measurement of ±10V. Eccentricity analog modulus of 0-10V. X and Y fiber position analog outputs ±10V, 10Khz. Digital outputs: alarms, defects. RS232C serial link : access to internal parameters and measurement results.
