Our IR LEDs are made in St. Petersburg Russia by a department of the Ioffe Institute called the Mid-IR Diode Optopair Group (MIRDOG). We now understand that the devices we shipped for the last few years under the LMS name (UK) were actually produced by MIRDOG. Devices are available with center wavelengths of 3.0, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8, 4.2, 4.7 and 5.4 microns. Typical emission bandwidth is 0.5 m and power levels at 10's to 100's of microwatts depending on duty cycle etc.
- The devices we NOW offer are superior to the prior ones for the follow reasons:
1. They are packaged in a style that allows easy heat sinking and thus higher drive power and higher optical power output. This is the "screw package" illustrated below. 2. The devices that we offer now are lower cost than previously. 3. The devices we offer now are better documented than the previous devices.
