MAS 40 – The Quality Spectrometer for Cost-Sensitive Budgets
– Instrument Systems GmbH is a leading supplier of high-quality spectrometers for applications in spectroradiometry and colorimetry. The company is now expanding its product range with the MAS 40 Mini-Array Spectrometer. The proven concept of a modular system approach has once again been designed into the MAS 40. A broad range of measuring adapters can be linked up via the fiber optic cable. This capability turns a single spectrometer into a diverse array of measuring systems. SpecWin analysis software and the integrated USB port make the instrument easy to operate. DLL and Labview drivers facilitate integration within dedicated customer applications.
These features turn the MAS 40 into a highly versatile spectrometer that can be used in development, quality assurance, research and training. Applications include spectral analysis of a wide variety of light sources using spectroradiometric techniques. A broad range of calibrated measuring adapters delivers the capability to determine luminous intensity, luminous flux and illuminance with high precision. Furthermore, the spatial radiation pattern can be analyzed. After measurement of the spectrum, all the colorimetric parameters such as color coordinates, color temperature and color saturation are then calculated. Proven accessories are also available for determining diffuse or specular reflection and transmission characteris-tics at optical components and surfaces.
In creating the MAS 40, development engineers at Instrument Systems have succeeded in setting a benchmark in value-for-money and they haven’t made any compromises when it comes to measuring accuracy and flexibility. The three models supplied cover a spectral range from 320 nm to 950 nm. The high-quality spectrograph delivers a spectral resolution of 2.5 nm. The detector, a sensitive CCD line sensor with 2048 pixels, enables a wide signal dynamic range, which can be further expanded by density filters.
