The CRi Maestro™ system is an affordable, breakthrough instrument for fluorescence-based in-vivo molecular imaging. Using multispectral acquisition and analysis, it provides dramatically improved sensitivity, multicolor flexibility and quantitative accuracy for both visible and near-infrared labelsAutofluorescence-unwanted light emission from unlabeled tissues that can obscure all but the brightest of signals-limits the usefulness of conventional in-vivo fluorescence imaging. Expensive cameras do not help, since they simply capture both the autofluorescence and the desired fluorescence signal more efficiently. The Maestro system employs unique multispectral imaging technology to virtually eliminate autofluorescence, revealing otherwise invisible labeled targets-that now appear bright against a near-black background. This dramatic improvement in signal-to-noise can increase sensitivity many fold, allowing much smaller or fainter targets to be detected
