In manufacturing plants, robot and workpiece coordinate systems are identified with the help of multi-camera systems. We calibrate these multi-camera systems using high-precision methods developed and patented by us. The internal and external camera parameters are determined without using calibration boards or bodies. Thus, one avoids the complex storage of calibration bodies within the manufacturing plant. In order to increase the availability of multi-camera systems TecMedic Technology & Medicine GmbH developed several mathematical procedures for a fast reintegration of mechanically misaligned cameras. Hereby the effects of unintentional misalignments of cameras can be discovered and compensated for. In addition, intended camera adjustments, e.g. for modifications of the field of view, can be accomplished very easily.
