Sterility testing is one of the most crucial steps in the pharmaceutical product release, especially in laminar flow hoods, where the risk of false positives is higher than in isolators. Therefore, Millipore has developed Steritest™ Equinox Pump to offer easy and reliable sterility testing.

The Steritest Equinox Pump is a software controlled peristaltic pump used for the safe, uniform transfer of drug samples from various packaging formats through the Steritest sterility testing devices. Used with Steritest devices, the pump delivers unmatched sterility testing consistency and reliability.

The ergonomic design of the new Steritest Equinox Pump allows it to fit into Laminar Flow Hoods, preventing undesirable air turbulence in the area where handling is performed and reducing the risk of false positives. The equipment has been designed for easy cleaning and is compatible with most standard decontamination agents. The patented automatic pump head facilitates loading and unloading of Steritest tubing. A built-in timer enables analysts to pre-set the time required for the transfer of products into both canisters. A patented pressure control system consistently monitors the pressure inside both canisters ensuring that the system is running within acceptable pressure limits at all times. From a desktop, standard operating procedures (SOPs) can be developed and then loaded onto the Steritest Equinox Pump for repeatable and reproducible tests.

Beyond the main advantages of reliability, ease of use and cleaning, the new Steritest Equinox Pump ensures consistent and accurate performances while reducing overall processing time.
