This Mobile Digital Imaging Chip (MDIC) is designed with our latest patented and patent pending XtremePIX image sensor technology. Featuring excellent low light sensitivity and low power, the device is ideally suited for any mobile digital imaging application including: camera phones, PDAs, digital still, video, and more. The high speed fully integrated pipelined image processing path features a patent pending 12 bit Distributed A/D that provides exceptional color reproduction and image quality.

Image Processing Core:

The high-speed pipelined image processing core is capable of delivering full resolution images at speeds up to 12 frames per second (RGB/YCbCr 4:2:2/5:6:5) and HDTV 720p video to 30 frames per second. Image processing functions include: on-the-fly defect correction, auto exposure, auto white balance, color correction, gamma correction, anti-flicker, Bayer interpolator, Edge enhancement, color space conversion, Edge enhancement and auto-focus assist. Algorithm coefficients can be manually overridden providing a unique combination of performance and flexibility. Processed output resolution is 8 bits per color and 12 bit Raw RGB output is also available.
