Laser beams can damage the human eye, even if they hit the retina for only a short period of time. Therefore, in addition to the conventional laser performance measurement systems, LOBO developed an easy to use, mobile measurement system to evaluate the safety of laser show systems. It automatically calculates and graphically displays all relevant measurement parameters. Just recently, it was awarded the american International Laser Display Association's "Product of the Year". The maximum permitted emission (MPE) the eye is allowed to experience is stipulated in the DIN 56912. The LMS calculates and compares the measured emission with the MPE values, so that it is possible to tell within seconds if the laser system is being operated according to the values indicated in the DIN standard. It is not important if scanned or continious wave (CW) emissions are measured. In the past, innumerable instruments were necessary for this purpose. The LMS, on the other hand, consists only of one detector LD-2, the measurement system LMS-2 itself, a laptop, and the corresponding software package LS-2. The printed measurement journal is laid out in a form that can be used as the basis for an official inspection of the laser system. All components can be used for laser systems with an output power of up to 40 W.
