The Mark-Tech Model 7700 Centering Readout is part of a system for precision 2-axis alignment using a laser beam. In the basic configuration - as the display device for the Mark-Tech 6400 Tooling Laser System - the 7700 is used with a tooling laser and a detector target. The laser generates an optical centerline. The traget is placed in this centerline facing the laser beam. The 7700 readout indicates displacement of the target in two perpendicular axes.
The Centering Detector has two independant digital displays, each of which are calibrated in mils (.001 inch) displacement. Each displays a maximum of 199.9 mils on each side of center. Two separate detector targets may be connected to the 7700: a front panel switch selects one for display.
