MICROTEST three point bending and tensile/compression modules have been specifically designed to observe the high stress region of the sample within a SEM or under an optical microscope. Windows software sets drive parameters and displays the stress/strain curve live on the PC screen. Loadcells from 2N to 5KN cover most applications, with extension rates from 0.02mm/min to 50mm/min. Special versions can be manufactured to customers requirements. All modules are controlled from Microtest tensile testing software. The 200N tensile stage uses standard minature loadcells in the range 2N to 200N. Samples are mounted horizontally, clamped to a pair of jaws and supported on stainless steel slide bearings. A dual threaded leadscrew drives the jaws symmetrically in opposite directions, keeping the sample centred in the field of view. The 200N module is ideally suited for use with an SEM or optical microscope and will easily fit on most stages.
Options include three and four point bending clamps, fibre clamps and microscope mounting adaptors.
All stages have linear scales for accurate elongation measurement and optical encoders for accurate speed measurement.
