Piezo Motors Enable Tiny Closed-Loop Nanopositioning Stages
New Scale's closed-loop linear stages and multi-axis positioning systems feature integral SQUIGGLE motors to provide unmatched precision in a very compact and precise design.

The stages support vertical loads of 200 to 500 grams with high stiffness and negligible heating. They are ideal for hands-free, "set and hold" positioning where space is at a premium, such as in optical microscopy, automated laser alignment, and biomedical research.

New Scale closed-loop stages are easily assembled into multi-axis (X-Y and X-Y-Z) nanopositioning systems.

The SQL-3405 is the smallest closed-loop positioning stage on the market. Its long 5 mm travel range provides for automated positioning without manual pre-alignment.

The SQ-2115 is a 20-nm resolution closed-loop stage that integrates a piezoelectric SQUIGGLE motor with crossed roller bearings and glass scale encoder.
