CEDIP Infrared Systems (www.cedip-infrared.com) exhibited its complete line of IR imaging products dedicated to defence and security applications at the recent Eurosatory international exhibition for Land and Land-Air defence. With more than 50 000 visitors visiting the exhibition CEDIP reported considerable interest across its range of high performance products.

The RUBY night vision camera was on show for the first time at such an international event. The RUBY camera is a high performance handheld thermal IR camera, specifically designed for patrol and mobile security forces. The RUBY camera has been adopted by the British Navy to survey strategic assets such as its Naval Headquarters in Glasgow or the harbour area used by its the nuclear submarine fleet.

Visitors interested in long range detection, observation and image gathering showed particular interest in CEDIP's JADE and EMERALD Long Range (LR) cameras on display with new geographical cartography computer. Based around a novel trifocal design the LR series cameras use motorised lenses (25, 80 and 320 mm focal length), switchable by a single command, to provide optimal detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km. The EMERALD LR was shown for the first time with the latest generation of 15µm pitch MCT detector that almost doubles the performance of the camera.
