Cincinnati, Ohio (November 4, 2004) – Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group has once again extended its powerful all-in-one TPC Series with the TPC-60S – a Windows CE based 5.7" QVGA STN LCD display computer for factory floor OIT (operator interface terminal).

The TPC-60S has an ultra slim form factor but is also durable to meet the requirements for operating interfaces in industrial environments. The front panel is NEMA4/IP65 compliant, and the plastic molding housing offers advantages such as low weight, high-performance, and good heat-dissipation.

The TPC-60S uses a low power, fanless ARM CPU running at 266 MHz. Designed to run Windows® CE .NET 4.2 or as a thin-client, it comes with 64 MB flash memory soldered on board and a CompactFlash® slot for extra storage. If wireless communication is required, the PCMCIA slot can be fitted with the optional wireless LAN card. TPC-60S has rich I/O interface features including three serial ports (one full RS-232, one 4-pin RS-232, one RS485), one Ethernet port (10/100Base-T), two USB ports (one for Host, and one for Client) and a LED indicator for the LAN.

The combination of the TPC Series with thin client software such as Microsoft® RDP makes it possible to reduce costs when implementing interfaces in the field. The TPC-60S can be used to provide decentralized interfaces to control local and external processes.

With the features described above, the PC-60S is mainly suitable for system control interfaces, such as those found in the machine automation, intelligent transport systems (ITS) and food industries, but wherever a long-lasting, small and reliable interface is needed, this touch panel computer will be welcomed.
