New evaporator technology safeguards sample integrity

Genevac has announced the availability of a new independently written applications report demonstrating how advances in centrifugal evaporator technology have safeguarded the integrity of dye-labelled oligonucleotides during the sample drying process.

Today many applications in modern molecular biology require dye labelled oligonucleotides including 'scorpion' probes, taqman probes and molecular beacons. In these applications the oligonucleotides are predominately used as diagnostic tools, it is therefore of vital importance that they are of high sample purity.

The new applications report compares and contrasts the sample integrity of oligonucleotides dried using a modern Genevac Model HT-4 Series with that possible using a older generation centrifugal evaporator. The report demonstrates how new methods of sample heating and sophisticated temperature control software now enable effective drying of even heat sensitive samples without risking thermal degradation.
