At the recent Milipol 2005 exhibition held in Paris, France, Cedip Infrared Systems (www.cedip-infrared.com) marked the international launch of several new products for security and surveillance applications.

Marking their international debut the Polytech range of gyro-stabilised airborne platforms drew considerable interest from a range of visitors interested in observation and monitoring in a range of military and civilian applications.

Designed specifically to meet the rigours of outdoor use Cedip's RUBY IR Night Vision camera's high-resolution imagery, lightweight handheld design, integral battery power, and interchangeable lenses was another popular exhibit. The handheld camera uses simple menu controls driven via easy to access ergonomic buttons. The binocular display enables comfortable viewing in all ambient lighting conditions. A unique combination of leading edge performance, rugged yet lightweight construction and ease-of-use was of particular interest to visitors involved with criminal investigation, coastal surveillance, border patrol, force protection and homeland security.

Launched at the recent DSEi 2005 show - PHAROS - a high-resolution multi-sensor platform drew consistent attention from visitors interested in short to medium range day/night surveillance applications. PHAROS features a state-of-the-art uncooled microbolometer thermal imager (nighttime), a CCD camera (daytime) and an optional Laser Range Finder, all integrated on a pan and tilt platform. This makes PHAROS an ideal ground or vehicle mounted surveillance system for sensitive sites such as harbours, borders, airports or industrial production facilities.

Other products on show included the new 4th generation JADE camera range and the JADE LR camera for long-range detection and surveillance applications.
