Ahrensburg, June 10, 2004 – Basler Vision Components (Basler-VC) introduces a new monochrome line scan camera series with 8,160 pixels. With these line scan products Basler expands its broad portfolio of high-end line scan cameras and gives you great flexibility in finding the right camera for your application. The L800k Series is based on a monochrome CCD sensor with 8,160 5µm x 5µm pixels. You can choose from three different speed types with line rates up to 14.4 kHz. The L800k cameras have small industrial grade housings. The interface is standard CameraLinkTM.

When describing the L800k benefits for the customer, Basler-VC Marketing Manager Hardy Mehl says: “If resolution counts most in your application, then the L800k Series is the right choice. The high line rates coupled with the high resolution enables you to detect small defects and ensure attractive throughputs in your machines. The L800k Series has a very compact size for an 8,160 pixel camera. The combination of a small width (71mm) and the short distance between the outer housing edge and the sensor's sensitive area lets you to align cameras side by side and achieve an almost 1:1 magnification. The camera has a standard F-Mount lens adapter, which is unique in the high-end 8k pixels camera segment and reduces system costs significantly. The 5.0 µm x 5.0 µm pixel size provides a well balanced trade-off between sensor size, sensitivity vs. signal-to-noise ratio, and system costs.”

All L800k cameras are equipped with a combination of properties that makes them easy to use and exceptionally capable. Highlights include: line counter, shading correction, built-in troubleshooting features and many more.

Each L800k camera is 100% tested before it leaves the factory using Basler's unique Camera Test Tool. This testing ensures that you will receive reliable, fully calibrated cameras with high reproducibility from unit to unit. Basler is committed to producing cameras that you can count on. Full production is expected to start end of July.
