Newport Introduces New Two-Inch Ultrafast Laser Broadband Mirror
Irvine, CA – January 11, 2006 – Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in optics and optical components for managing light, today announced the availability of new two-inch Ultrafast Laser Broadband Mirrors for ultrashort pulse lasers. These new larger mirrors are an ideal solution for customers that would like to expand their beam and spread its energy over a wider surface. The standard product high reflectance beam steering mirrors feature a 45° angle of incidence and are an excellent companion to industry-leading ultrafast amplifiers such as the Spitfire Pro®, which is available from Newport’s Spectra-Physics Lasers Division.
According to Bing Kongmebhol, Product Manager, Optics, Newport Corp., “At Newport, our mission is to be the premier global resource for ultrafast solutions to make, manage and measure light. Many customers have placed orders for custom two-inch mirrors, and now we are pleased to offer these optics as standard, off-the-shelf products. They join a comprehensive list of ultrafast solutions that are readily available from Newport. Whether you need an ultrafast laser beamsplitter, a Brewster’s angle dispersing prism, or a thin beam sampler, we deliver a very comprehensive range of optics to our ultrafast customers, often with same-day shipping.”
Newport’s two-inch ultrafast laser broadband 45° mirrors feature minimum pulse dispersion, reflectivity greater than 99% and a high damage threshold. They have been laboratory tested and withstand up to 1 TW/cm2 with 100 femtosecond pulses at 5 Hz at 800 nm. They support a bandwidth range of 700-930 nm. In addition to a λ/10 surface flatness, they also feature a 15-5 scratch-dig surface quality.
