Newport introduces NSC100 NewStep Motorized Actuator and controllers
Remote control of hard-to-reach components for experimental and commercial setups at a great price!
Newport’s NSC100 NewStep motorized actuators and controllers are a unique and economical solution for motorizing optical mounts, manual linear stages and other opto-mechanical components.
NewStep motorized actuators and controllers are specifically designed for remote control of hard-to-reach or sensitive components, whose position can be influenced by the compressive and torsional forces of human operators.
“We are very happy to introduce our NewStep motion products,” says Thomas Bartholomäus, Motion control Product Manager. “Not only do they considerably facilitate the remote control adjustment of opto-mechanical setups, but we are offering them at a price that makes them an affordable solution for all types of applications.”
The handheld NSC100 NewStep controller provides convenient speed control of the NewStep actuator via a spring-loaded rotary knob.
Several NSC100s can be mounted directly to an optical table to form a compact remote panel. For computer automation, the NSC100 can connect to the RS-232 port of a computer. This allows an operator to control the position of up to 256 units.
The NSC12 actuator’s compact design with standard mounting interface is compatible with many Newport components and other manufacturers’ components. This makes it a versatile tool for many experimental setups and a key to success for commercial systems that require regular adjustments.
Each NSC10-KT contains an NSC12 actuator, an NSC100 controller and a power supply. Until March 31, the NSC100-KT is available at a special price of (€665 for European customers).
Key features are : economical stepper motor actuator, 12 mm travel, 0,3 µm sensitivity, 0,6 µm uni-dir. Repeatability, 2 mm/s maximum speed, 18 N axial load and dimensions of 66,75 long and 30 mm in diameter.
Typical applications include: optimizing the alignment of a laser cavity, zeroing in on coherence length, fiber coupling, spatial filtering, beam steering.
