Continuing its tradition of providing innovative and high performance power and energy measurement solutions, Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in photonics and instrumentation, has introduced the 1935-C Series of optical meters. Newport’s new family of power and energy meters delivers a powerful combination of features, performance and versatility, previously unavailable in similar products.

The 1935-C optical meters are capable of pulsed measurements up to 10 kHz, which is an order of magnitude higher than other commercially available products. The meters are able to store up to 250,000 data points internally, with a USB port than can be used to expand this memory capability. Designed to provide ease-of-use, they use a menu-driven interface with soft keys and help functions. A large full color VGA display allows excellent visibility of all instrument settings and measurement data. These colors can be easily changed to accommodate different laser safety goggles.

"For over a decade, Newport has been the leading supplier of the industry’s most innovative power and optical meters, and we believe that our new 1935-C Series represents the flagship instrument for the laser and photonic industry," said Ron Hartmayer, Newport’s Director of Marketing for Photonics Instrumentation, " This product family is the ideal solution to measure optical power and energy from any type of laser, laser diode or broadband light source, in many applications including research, product development, QA testing, and manufacturing.”

In conjunction with the new instrument launch, Newport also introduced the new 918D family of photodiode detectors, including a new cooled InGaAs detector, operating up to 2,550 nm. These devices feature a built-in attenuator and temperature sensor for higher dynamic range and temperature shift compensation. Together with its broad portfolio of other photodiode, thermopile and pyroelectric detectors, Newport’s new 1935-C Series accommodates a full range of power and energy measurements, required in research and development applications.
