The NightVista E1100 camera is a CMOS-based day/night video camera designed for low light level surveillance applications. It is a half-inch format, VGA resolution camera that outputs RS-170 video at 30 fps. Its camera body is small enough to fit into a two-inch cube, and its power consumption is less than 1100 milliwatts. As a result, the NightVista E1100 is well suited for portable battery-powered applications. The NightVista E1100 reprocesses and optimizes low light images and is configurable to end user requirements. The NightVista E1100 represents the first intensified camera to utilize Intevac’s electron bombarded CMOS sensor. This technology enables the company to build cameras that provide users with outstanding night vision video performance at affordable prices. Additionally, reliability is enhanced by the sensor’s greatly reduced complexity as compared to Gen III tubes. This single sensor camera may be used for day or night surveillance, taking advantage of its very wide dynamic range capabilities (10-4 to 10+4 lux.) The GaAs photocathode is sensitive to light from about 400nm in the visible spectrum to about 900nm in the near-IR spectrum
