The new Mag-Link™ magnetic disc couplings from HUCO smoothly and cost-efficiently transmit torque with effective overload protection. They provide positive disengagement and no slip, even at high speed.
Torsionally soft, the Mag-Link™ coupling transmits torque up to 1.69Nm – slip torque, 2.03Nm - across a non-magnetic barrier with no physical contact. It is therefore naturally electrically, mechanically and chemically isolating. As it contains neither rotating seals nor wearing parts, this coupling promises a long, maintenance-free service life.
Exceptionally easy to assemble and adjust, Mag-Link comprises two parts, a drive magnet assembly and a driven magnet assembly. Each contains multiple pole, high energy rare earth magnets. One is attached to the motor shaft and other is placed on the opposing side of a barrier, for example on the wall of a vessel.
Mag-Link provides both parallel and angular misalignment and is suitable for speeds up to 20,000 rpm. Stock bore sizes are from 3mm – 16mm. Hazardous area and vacuum applications will benefit most from this new addition to the HUCO range.
