Oceanographic Irradiance Sensor

PRINT
BACK

The OCR-507 irradiance sensor is a fully digital optical sensor package that combines precision optics and high performance microelectronics. This system has seven customer-defined discrete optical wavelengths, selectable from Satlantic's standard list, and measures the downwelling or upwelling irradiance - in-air or in-water - at 7 discrete spectral bands. The measurements are used for determination of solar irradiance at a given horizon; the variability in space in time is useful for estimates of primary production, heating rates, and underwater visibility. The equipment has a very high accuracy and precision, is very easy to use and has low power consumption. It can be operated as a standalone or networked instrument. Size and weight are small.
