Available from INTEGRA Biosciences (www.integra-biosciences.com) the VACUSAFE comfort is the system of choice for almost any application requiring a controlled vacuum.

Offering state-of-the-art liquid aspiration, filtration and waste disposal in a compact benchtop unit the VACUSAFE comfort is a proven tool for optimising column based purification methods. Commonly such methods are based upon loading nucleic acids or proteins onto a matrix packed in a column using a vacuum source. Subsequent steps in these procedures also involve vacuum based washing of the matrix with buffers. Incorporating the latest ultra-low noise pump technology the VACUSAFE comfort offers the infinitely variable, gentle vacuum control that produces optimal results and performance.

The VACUSAFE comfort is extremely user friendly. Colour-coded quick connectors facilitate easy handling and virtually eliminate the chances of incorrect set-up. Then simply switch on, set the vacuum, and the system is operational. As soon as the target vacuum has been reached, the pump switches off automatically. If the vacuum collapses in use, the pump switches back on automatically. Waste is collected in a shatterproof 3-litre glass or 4 litre polypropylene container that is fitted with an overflow filter and optionally a level sensor to prevent liquids from getting into the pump.

The VACUSAFE comfort incorporates all the essential elements for safe and productive removal of virtually any liquid.

All parts of the VACUSAFE comfort and VACUBOY Hand Operator set that may come in contact with liquid may be repeatably sterilised, guaranteeing maximum safety even with hazardous and critical liquids. For busy laboratories the VACUSAFE comfort now offers the multi-user possibility of connecting two units to one waste bottle.
