The World's First USB Photon Counting System. The PCMPlus module is the first USB based intelligent photon counting system on the market. It is a self-contained module featuring integrated sensors, power supply, a cooler and microcontroller which allows the user full control over various key sensor operating parameters. In addition the system functionality incorporates time resolution (Time-Tagging) down to 2.5ns, Time-Binning, Time-Tagging, Multi-Channel Scalar/Averager (MCS/MCA) and Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC). The module is at present available with 1, 2 or 4 separate sensors, however, its unique modular design allows easy expansion to 16 should the need dictate. The PCMPlus is controlled through a modular, Java based, user interface designed to enable the user to easily configure and manage the multiple sensors and complex counting functionality within groups of PCMPlus modules. DLL libraries (drivers) are also available to further simplify the integration of the PCMPlus into any photon counting system. The flexibility and ease-of-use of the PCMPlus means it is an ideal sensing platform for use in an OEM instrument or research tool.
