Georgin is now offering a remote I/O solution for installation in explosive atmosphere. Proposed in two different versions, Local Bus for zone 2 mounting and Field Bus for zone 1, the system allows interfacing of all devices installed in hazardous areas such as proximity switches, IS transmitters and actuators, explosion proof valves, … Zone 1 mounting is made in polyester housing or in stainless steel cabinet. Modules can be replaced during operation (hot swapping) without any hot permit. Digital and analog I/O can be arranged in any desired order. Available protocols: Modbus RTU, Profibus DP or DPV1. Redundancy can be obtained for power supply as well as for communication. The system supports FDT/DTM concept and thus can be configured directly from the master. Communication medium can be copper or optic fiber by using FOL. From the master, it is possible to do HCiR (Hot Configuration in Run) in order to change configuration of the slave without any needs of restarting the Profibus. Profibus connection is made on a standard RS485 segment, which does not limit number of slave on the segment compare to a conventional IS RS485 connection.
