We are happy to announce that Nanofilm has been assigned as exclusive distribution and production partner for the innnovative S-sens K5 biosensor system of Ceasar.
Ceasar is an independed research institute based in Bonn, Germany. The focus of the institute is applied research and technology development with the goal of reaching the level of commercial usability. The S-sens K5 biosensor, developed in the group of Dr. Quandt with the support of Prof. Famulok, University of Bonn, is based on surface acoustic wave (SAW) detection of analytes binding to a surface. Group leader Dr. Quandt: "The S-sens K5 system is an alternative to SPR and QCM systems, which are being widly used for the detection of biomolecules. Our SAW based system has been developed with the user in mind, who wants push-button operation and a simple, reliable liquid handling. On the other hand, the acccessibilty of the active surface and the minaturized reader unit holds promise for a combination with other surface sensitive detection methods, especially optically.
