The Ex-amplifier series SF3 serves to connect fill level monitors in gas atmospheres at risk for explosion and complies with ATEX. The special characteristic of this analysis device is that it is approved for installation in zone 1, i.e., in explosion hazardous areas. This means that it can be installed close to the sensor, for example, in close proximity to a fuel tank.
The UFGS 075 Ex... sensor or a thermal sensor is used to detect fill levels in gasoline tanks. Both sensors feature an"intrinsically safe" type of protection and may be used only with an approved amplifier.
A relay serves as output and is rated for loads up to 2 ampere if the lines are installed with type "increased safety" protection (e.g., connecting a solenoid valve). Alternatively, the relay can be connected to an intrinsically safe circuit
