The Mavericks series is an exciting new line of ultrafast lasers for customers wanting a complete and versatile source of femtosecond pulses, without the need for an expensive separate pump laser.

Based on a Chromium doped forsterite (Cr:f) gain medium, the Mavericks series outputs pulses in the near infrared centered at 1250 nm and tunable from 1230-1270 nm. Wavelengths in the 1250 nm range are less damaging to biological samples than other ultrafast lasers, making the Mavericks an ideal source of ultrashort pulses for biological and medical applications. The Mavericks laser system includes a 6-10 W Ytterbium laser operating at 1064 nm that is fiber coupled into the laser head. The oscillator and fiber pump laser are integrated into a single baseplate, making the Mavericks series easy to install and setup with a minimum of table space. This combination gives an all solid state ultrafast laser system that is offered at a very affordable price. The combination of Ytterbium fiber laser and Cr:f oscillator produces pulses in the sub-65 femtosecond range at a repetition rate of 120/76 MHz and delivers average power between 180-250mW. Frequency doubling with an optional Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) module quickly and easily provides wavelengths in the visible at 630 nm and super-continuum generation produce pulses in the infrared and visible range. Based on proven cavity design the Mavericks can be installed and maintained by the user, alternatively, full onsite installation and training is offered. Mavericks lasers can be used as a seed source for our Cr:f regenerative amplifier, providing high peak power pulses for material processing and other high power applications. Complete amplified tera-watt systems based on the Mavericks are also available, delivering peak output power from 1-2 tera-watts at 1250 nm, 60 fs pulse duration and over 120 mJ of energy per pulse.
