Cryogenic Piezoelectric Motors: Room Temp to 4 K The SQ-100C Series SQUIGGLE motor is a patented piezoelectric motor for nanopositioning in cryogenic chambers. It can operate continuously from room temperature to 4 Kelvins, the temperature of liquid helium.
This tiny ultrasonic motor saves space in cryostats and operates with very low heating. Special materials with matched thermal expansion properties ensure reliable operation at ultra-cold temperatures. The standard SQUIGGLE drive electronics allow tuning of frequency and amplitude to compensate for cryogenic performance changes.
UHV Motors: 10-10 Torr, No Mechanical Feed-Throughs The SQ-100UHV Series SQUIGGLE motor operates at 10-10 Torr for automated ultrahigh vacuum alignment without mechanical feed-throughs.
