In-depth research and irradiation experiments led to the development of radiation-hardened CMOS pixels and readout electronics. These structures can withstand a total dose of irradiation of well over 10 Mrad. Radiation hard CMOS image sensors play an important role in radiation environments where normal CMOS or CCD imagers do not survive and where CRT image tubes are to expensive, too heavy or too large. •Image resolution: 512 x 512 •Pixel size: 25µm x 25µm •Optical format: 12.8 x 12.8 = 1 inch •Pixel rate: 8 Mhz •Shutter: rolling •Windowing: ROI read out •Extended dynamic range: double slope •On-chip FPN correction: Double Sampling
