As glass arrives in a molten state prior to measuring, temperature-stabilized sensor housings and application-specific air and water-cooling jackets are needed to withstand the excessively high temperatures found in many inspection areas.

With production lines running at up to 10 meters per minute, there is a requirement for high sample rates – forcing glass measurement sensors to detect the smallest of defects on the thinnest, clearest, most reflective of surfaces, as is the case with LCD glass in particular.

Add the highly demanding requirements to maintain glass thickness in the micron and sub-micron ranges for many applications, and only the most accurate sensors will do. Thankfully, ours are among the best. Using special laser lighting and image processing software to extract thickness information from the image of the laser beam as it passes through the glass, accurate measurements are achieved in real time, with sensors able to deliver instant data throughput.
