M.E.A.'s Slide Valve Actuator

The Superthrust Actuator is an advanced electro-hydraulic modulating actuator developed by M.E.A. for FCCU slide valve applications in refineries. M.E.A. introduced the high performance actuators in the field in 1979. Every actuator is assembled, tested and calibrated at the factory. On site installation requires only physical mounting, connection of control signal and DC feedback for split unit actuators. Hydraulic lines and electronic cables are connected to the position actuator from the hydraulic power and control unit. Minimum field piping is required for one slide valve system.

The split unit has the hydraulic power and control unit mounted separately from the slide valve position actuator assembly. Actuator standard stroke lengths vary from 12 inches to 42 inches in 6 inch increments. Strokes up to 60 inches are available. Operating thrusts vary from 2,000 to 30,000 pounds. Standard stroking speed under modulating control may vary from 1 inch per second to 5 seconds for full stroke. Many other special lengths are available. Larger thrusts are available.
