HARTING’s new and innovative solution gives users more convenient and extensive cutting-edge options when configuring unmanaged Ethernet switches. The solutions available on the market to date have allowed the user to make only a very few configuration changes such as auto-negotiation or port enable/disable.
Now for the first time ever, HARTING’s SmartCon Ethernet switches provide the user with more than 100 configuration options. Useage and operation were designed with practical applications in mind. All SmartCon Ethernet switches can be configured via a USB port and are Plug and Play capable as standard, or they can be re-configured to meet special requirements.
The possibilities that SmartCon has to offer first become apparent to the user when the Ethernet switch is connected to a PC, laptop or hand-held PC via its front panel USB port. Standardised across the globe (specifications 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0), USB ports facilitate universal deployment with all notebooks, PCs and palmtops. SmartCon devices are simple to operate via the relevant buttons and in combination with the wide-ranging possibilities they offer the user, they are pushing back the boundaries of application options for unmanaged Ethernet switches.
