eduCADaM is a set of Windows programmes for CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacture), which can directly drive CNC machines with up to five axes, now available from Unimatic Engineers, the creators of the eduCAM range of Design & Technology equipment range.

It offers 2.5D capabilities, i.e. the vertical axis of movement is restricted while the two horizontal axes are effectively infinite, so is ideal for milling, engraving, routing, lettering, modelling, glue dispensing, tool path control, drilling, feeding and tool wear compensation. eduCADaM also incorporates many of the features more normally associated with advanced 3D programmes, such as wire mesh creation, projections, bends and space manipulation.

The reason for developing eduCADaM was to create world-class ease of use suitable for absolute beginners, yet with access to the advanced functions required by expert users. This makes it an ideal CAD/CAM pack for educational establishments, as it can be used by new students just starting out with CAD/CAM and equally by the most advance students who are honing their considerable skills.

Like all eduCAM products, this package is industry proven and can be found in many factories, design offices and consultancies in a range of industrial sectors from manufacturing to product design, textiles and fashion, automotive, sail making, upholstering and furniture. This means that eduCADaM-trained students can step seamlessly into positions with employers and be making a positive contribution from Day 1.
