The high capacity 3500 has been specifically developed for operations that require the blending of large volumes. It has a gentler action than the 80 or 400 models.

Stomacher® 3500 Biowasher
The 3500 has been designed to accomodate the large volume of cartridge filter fibres and washing solutions in the extraction of water borne parasites such as Cryptospidium and Giardia from filters used to sample large volumes of water. These organisms do not need to be present in large numbers to cause infaction and water samples of 100 litres or more are generally required. the water is filtered and subsequently the organisms are extracted from the filter utilising the Stomacher®'s unique washing action forcing washing solution through the filter fibres. The Stomacher® 3500W is the most efficient and economical approach to this procedure.

Forensic applications

Trichinella testing of pork meat is mandatory under EU law. The procedure involves the digestion of samples from different carcases by a combined process of Stomaching, heating and enzymatic digestion, the reulting sediment is examined by microscopy to identify the presence of Trichinalla. The test procedures takes about an hour to complete.
