Employing wavefront-sensing technology, Optikos’s Surface Measurement Instrument (SMI)™ enables operators to achieve interferometric accuracy in measurements of optical components without the use of floating optical tables or other vibration reduction schemes. One button operation and kinematic part support allow for high-speed measurement of spherical, toric and aspheric optical parts. Furthermore, highly precise measurements of radius (better than .05%) are readily made. The affordable SMI is the only available high throughput tool for a wide range of aspheric surfaces. The SMI operates under Windows® operating systems. An OLE interface provides a library of SMI functions that can be accessed by a variety of OLE client applications such as Microsoft® Word® or Excel®, or programs created using tools such as Microsoft® Visual Basic®. This capability provides the user the ability to create custom interfaces for the SMI that can collect, manipulate, and record measurement data, satisfying the most demanding production floor control applications.
Measurement applications include: · Micro-optics · Fiber optics · Ball lenses · Aspherics · Contact lenses · Intraocular lense
