Tecan has developed a brand new family of powerful, fully automated microplate analyzers for EIA processing that specifically comply with the European Community IVD-Directive 98/79/EC demanding higher standards of reliability and safety. The Freedom EVOlyzer® is an open system, available in three different sizes (100, 150 and 200 cm) suitable for a range of throughputs and featuring customizable workspaces that can be adapted to the requirements of any commercial assay.
Each system achieves high-speed, accurate and reproducible serial and parallel pipetting using a two-, four- or eight-tip liquid handling arm and microplates are effortlessly moved around the workspace by a robotic manipulator arm. All washing and reading steps are fully automated using a new Columbus™ Washer and the highly acclaimed Sunrise™ Reader.
The Freedom EVOlyzer combines these traditional benefits of Tecan’s automation platforms with extra safety features, including larger safety panels and automatic door locks, positive bar code identification of samples, reagents and plates, and restricted access.
