CEDIP Infrared Systems (www.cedip-infrared.com) has announced that it will exhibit its complete line of IR imaging products dedicated to defence and security applications at the forthcoming Defence Systems & Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition in September.
At the world's premier tri-service defence exhibition visitors to stand 1516 will be able to see PHAROS - a new lightweight uncooled microbolometric thermal imager for short to medium range surveillance applications. Based around a state-of-the-art 384 x 288 amorphous silicon microbolometer detector and operating throughout the 8 - 12 µm range the new camera has been designed to be robust, energy efficient and lightweight. This makes it an ideal compact IR sensor for applications requiring portability such as border surveillance, sensitive area surveillance, perimeter auto-protection and early warning of fires. Rated at IP-65 the camera can be used in all weater conditions and has been specified to operate from +80 to -80 degrees centigrade.
Designed specifically to meet the rigours of outdoor surveillance use the RUBY IR Night Vision camera features high-resolution imagery, lightweight handheld design, integral battery power, and interchangeable lenses. The handheld camera uses simple menu controls driven via easy to access ergonomic buttons. The binocular display enables comfortable viewing in all ambient lighting conditions. The RUBY camera has been adopted by the British Navy to survey strategic assets such as its Naval Headquarters in Glasgow or the harbour area used by its the nuclear submarine fleet.
For visitors interested in long range detection, observation and image gathering specialists will be on hand to demonstrate the JADE and EMERALD Long Range (LR) cameras with geographical cartography computer. Based around a novel trifocal design the LR series cameras use motorised lenses to provide optimal detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km.
