Transparent quartz ingots are made from high purity quartz powder, melted at very high temperature by flame fusion in a continuous furnace. The combination of high temperature melting, long residence times in the furnace and movement of the melt guarantee a low level of bubbles and inclusions. They are available in round, rectangular and cylinder shape so as to maximize the customer's material usage and reduce waste. TSC transparent quartz ingots are used to make semiconductor manufacturing equipment parts and in systems where transparency, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance or high purity are required. Vitreosil® Optical grade quartz ingots and used to make near UV or visible optics, including viewing windows used in high temperature or corrosive environments.
