The Trestles series mode-locked femtosecond Titanium-doped sapphire (Ti:sapphire) lasers have been designed as affordable and reliable devices for ultrafast applications, or for seeding Ti:sapphire amplifier systems. Ti:sapphire is a solid state laser medium capable of tunable laser operation over a broad range of near infrared wave lengths. A prism pair is used to produce a net negative intracavity dispersion allowing the system to produce near transform limited pulses over most of the wavelength regime. Because of its broad absorption band in blue and green, energy for lasing process can be supplied by standard continuous wave (CW) argon ion laser or CW 532 nm, high-power, diode-pumped solid state lasers. With properly chosen optics, the Ti:sapphire laser can deliver a wide range of wave lengths and pulse durations. The Trestles series offers pulse length ranging from sub-20 fs to 100 fs. Models provide ultrafast pulse generation centered at 800nm and tunable from 710-950 nm (depends on model). Trestles lasers provide a flexible platform that gives the user an opportunity to modify the laser cavity as desired. User can very repetition rate and improve laser according to recent and future developments in the field with only minor changes of optical and mechanical components. The open architecture design and affordable cost makes the Trestles series an ideal tool for a university lab or other learning environment. With proper care the system will provide stable output power and pulse generation for many industrial and research applications including seeding optical amplifiers, wavelength conversion, multiphoton imaging and material processing
