Always seeking to provide the most efficient methods to meet our customers' manufacturing needs, Alabama Laser has added a Trumpf Trumatic 6000 Laserpress to our job shop.
This new system is a combination machine which is able to both punch and laser cut, opening up a vast number of new possibilities for productivity and flexibility
- Start-to-finish machining: The workpiece is machined from start to finish in a single clamping. This means that you can machine a part using several different methods without having to switch machines midway
- Minimal dead are: The two machining stations are arranged in such a way that they can machine the workpiece with almost no dead area.
Tower - Material Handling System
In order to be more competitive by optimizing production, the Trumatic 6000 is connected to our new material rack tower, which allows it to run virtually unattended. The STOPA material handling system holds flat sheets in pallets on separate racks within the tower.
As material is needed for processing, the picking unit travels up the tower like an elevator, picks out the pallet containing the appropriate material, and delivers it on tracks to the punch press station. The material handling system delivers material to several other punch presses on our shop floor as well.

- Laser Cutting:
The laser head contains a contactless automatic height adjustment which maintains a constant distance between the cutting nozzle and the workpiece. This enables the laser to cut even on pre-formed components.

- Punching:
The punching head can achieve a stroke rate of 900 strokes per minute during punching and 2800 strokes per minute during marking.

- Forming:
A variable forming height enables formed components to be machined with minimal travel.
