PROXITRONIC is the leading manufacturer of high resolution proximity focus Image Conversion Diode Intensifiers which cover the entire spectrum from UV to Near IR.
For the growing requirements for image sensors and photo diode arrays in the UV spectrum, PROXITRONIC offers high resolution UV spectral converters incorporating fiber optic output windows for direct coupling to the pixel surface of a detector without the need for any additional fiber optic coupling. Thus, coupling losses are reduced making it possible to attain a light transmission factor to the detector of up to 70 %. This represents a significant improvement over previous coupling methods which utilize a fiber optic plate over the detector array. In addition Moiré effects will be held to a minimum. The high resolution of these UV Spectral Converter Intensifiers is realized through the use of a very small space between photocathode and luminous screen measuring as less as 0,8 mm and a high acceleration potential of up to 10 kV.

UV-Photocathodes
For UV spectral conversion, PROXITRONIC has developed two special new photocathodes:
1. the Advanced Solar Blind Photocathode featuring very high sensitivity in the UV (quantum efficiency of about 24 %) with an extremely high rejection factor of visible light of up to 9 orders of magnitude; and
2. the UV Wide-Band Photocathode, based on the well known S 20 type, but with considerably increased UV and blue sensitivity providing quantum efficiencies of over 30 % in this range.
