UV radiation is a very common disinfection method that is successfully used in many areas. A research programme promoted by the German Ministry of Research and Technology, which was concluded in 1993, has demonstrated that an effective disinfection of potable water can be achieved by UV radiation. UV technology has continuously been developed further since then. More effective UV lamps have been designed that convince with their safe disinfection. In addition, an optimal hydromechanics of the irradiation chamber ensures that the process is highly economical.

With its three series Barrier A, UV Wave and UV Astron Wallace & Tiernan offers an adequate system for a number of applications: for flow rates from 1 up to 1000 m3/h. Long-life WTL-high-performance lamps are used that ensure safe disinfection of the treated water. Barrier A systems content amalgam lamps which are signed by high efficiency. The performance of the system is monitored by a UV sensor that permanently measures the UV intensity. The disinfection control enables economical operation of the UV Astron series.

All the series, UV Wave, Barrier A and UV Astron, have been designed for easy installation. The unusual design of UV Wave is the main reason for a flexible and space-saving installation: No elbows and tube bends are necessary for installation of the UV system into existing pipe systems.
