The new Sensicam em Electron Multiplication CCD Camera System from PCO incorporates the latest cutting-edge on-chip technology. This unique approach of using on-chip multiplication (1 - 800X) allows this camera system's performance to deliver unprecedented high-sensitivity required in low light imaging applications (noise <1e-rms).
With its excellent resolution of 1000x1000 pixels this high performance cooled digital 12 bit CCD camera system is best suited for extremely low light applications. The system features thermo-electrical cooling of the image sensor (down to -16 °C) and an outstanding quantum efficiency (up to 65%) achieving a high spectral sensitivity in general and especially in the NIR. Exposure time modes (software selectable) range from 50 µs - 1h. A high speed serial data link connects the system to the PC (fiber optic link available). Applications include luminescence microscopy, single photon counting, laser induced fluorescence, imaging of potential sensitive dyes (Neuroscience), gel imaging and absorption spectroscopy.
