Developed by CRI Inc., the electrically tunable Filter VariSpec works without moving parts using liquid crystal optical components.

The Filter is available for the three wavelength ranges VIS, NIR, MIR and – depending on the spectral range – with 20 or 35 mm Apertures. Also depending on the type the filters have a Bandwidth (FWHM) of 7, 10 or 20 nm.

The filter is especially suitable for high quality imaging systems.

Apart from the stand alone version, CRI Inc. offers filters fitting the most usual microscopes.

For the use in OEM Systems, the filter can be shipped with the optical and electrical configuration that works best with the application in question.

For optically simpler tasks, a distinctively less expensive RGB-Filter can be obtained from CRI.

Nuance – a multi spectral imaging system based on VariSpec including computer and software – is an effective tool in the fields of fluorescence spectroscopy, bio-medical research, non-desctructive QA/DC and forensic analytics.
