High-power JÖST vibrating feeders with unbalance or electromagnetic drives have become established as the conveying and charging machines of choice in glass recycling.

They are mainly used where processes require continuous or batch-based feed. Their principle applications include:
- Extraction of sand, additives and cullet from bunkers and silos
- Charging of crushers, mixers, furnaces and weighing systems
- Feeding onto belt conveyors, bucket excavator systems, vibratory mechanical screens, loading terminals and grading and classifying systems

Vibrating trough-type feeders are energy-conserving and environmentally friendly compared to other conveyor systems. They function with low wear, and without modifying the structure of the conveyed material.
