Wavecell radio gateways are used to relay information from Wavenis metering and sensor networks via the GSM cellular telephone network. Wavecell collects and stores information from a local network of Wavenis-enabled equipment, and transfers it to a remote server via SMS/GPRS. With its two-way communication ability, Wavecell can be used for data collection as well as remote management and control of Wavenis networks and notifying the server automatically in case of alarms and other events.
